Northport Chorale

The Northport Chorale is recruiting new members for the Winter Session. Practices are Wednesdays at 7:30pm at The East Northport Middle School. New members Sept 2nd and 9th. All voices welcome!

Sunday School Returns

Come One! Come All! Sunday school will begin on Sunday September 20, at 9am. Ryan Humphrey and Lori Fagan will again be leading the charge and they have some really exciting activities planned for this year. If you are interested in having your child/children attend this year, please call the church office or register online.

Contemporary Worship Returns

Life Lessons from Ted Lasso. This is our contemporary series starting this fall. We will be using the critically acclaimed comedy-drama series to help us reflect on life and our faith. The series will begin September 20, with BELIEVE – faith when you don’t have all the answers. You are encouraged to join us for this informative series. We are also in need of some people to help with the power point presentations. If you are able to help out please see Pastor Jim ASAP.

Confirmation

There will be an information meeting for parents on September 22, at 7:00pm to discuss the confirmation program. We will be discussing dates, times and curriculum. All students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade are encouraged to join the confirmation program. The educational ministry of the church is here to help students learn more about faith and develop closer ties with the church and its pastors. Call the church office if you have any questions.

Bible Study

The Thursday bible study will start a new season with the book The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. It is about a senior demon, Screwtape, who is writing advice and temptation to his nephew Wormwood to lead a young man away from God. You are encouraged to purchase the book and start reading. Classes will begin on September 24, at 3pm. All are encouraged to sign in. No prior knowledge is needed.

Healing Service

Back by popular demand we will be offering a time during the distribution of communion for anointing, laying on of hands and a brief prayer. It will be off to the side near the piano. The plan is to start the last Sunday of the month, September 27 and continue every last Sunday of the month. Please let us know what you think.

Save the Date - Fall Garage Sale

Our fall garage sale will be Saturday, October 17th from 8:00am to 1:00pm. We will begin collection of goods (no clothing or large furniture) on Sunday, September 27th on the stage in the Fellowship Hall.

Mission Trip to Guatemala

Our congregation, in partnership with United Lutheran Church in Huntington Station, is sending a team to Guatemala in August! Team members include: Kris Sher, Mark Mahler, Karleigh Mahler, and Pastor Sarah. Stay tuned for ways to support them through prayer and upcoming fundraisers. You can also donate to their go fund me account.

National Youth Gathering

The ELCA National Youth Gathering is scheduled for June 29-July 3, 2027. We are now accepting applications for those who might be interested in attending. Please contact one of the pastors for more information. Eligible ages: 8th – 12th grades.

Nursery Room Available

Our nursery has resumed its regular time of 9:15 AM. The nursery is held in the green room of the preschool wing. The nursery is staffed on a rotating basis by Deserie Burns, Debbie and Rikki Cliffe, Stefanie Attanasio, and Lynn Mark. We give thanks to our volunteers for taking on this new role, providing a safe and welcoming space for our youngest children while parents participate in worship. HANAH

Huntington Action Network Against Hate. This faith based community seeks to prevent acts of hate and to respond and support those who have experienced hate incidents. Bilingual volunteers are needed for coming events, so  please help if you are able. Here is the October HANAH newsletter.
